Wood Insert Fires are perfect to convert your inefficient exisiting open fireplace into a very efficient and powerful heat source without demolishing. Insert fires are cleverly designed as a sealed unit with double wall natural convection system which can also be increased using a fan system.  This unites the ambience of an open heat with the high heat output of an energy efficient stove.  Sizes available to suit all fireplaces.

The BARBAS  Universal 5 range offer the character of an open fire and the efficency of an economincal wood burning stove. This beauifully designed line offer various sizes perfectly suitable for an existing fireplace due to their standard shape which tapers from front to back ( see specifications ) as well as perfect to use as a build in option. All sizes offer an imposing glass surface area for a wonderful view of your fire. With an optional convection set and a powerful fan system which assist in the swift distribution of heat.  You may opt for the frameless construction or for the 3 or 4 sided frame. the abilty to dress around the stove with an ornamental fire surround, maybe in stone or marble or to install the fire fully integrated into the wall using suitable plaster board provides every option to bring warmth and character together with your own personal style.

The high quality interior and balanced advanced combustion system of the Universal 5 series ensure high efficiency  and ease of use. All Universal 5 stoves are designed with a natural convection casing which can be greatly enhanced with the use of the two internal 42 volt fans which ensure that the warm air created inside the encasement is projected outwards from the available outlet into your room therefore utilising as much of the created heat as possible.  Please Note : These fans are a completely separate system to the internal burning within the fire and can be switched off without effecting the burning of the actual fire.  The superior balanced combustion system in the UNIVERSAL 5 range is what gives these fires an exception burn.  Three inlets allow the air into the unit - primary combustion air is via the underside, secondary combustion is via the rear and preheated air is via the top for the cleaning of the glass and further benifits for combustion.   This system ensures an efficiency of over 78% along with low emissions creating a warmer interior and a much cleaner enviroment.
